Bala High Street is 1.4 miles from the site by road, or about 18 minutes on foot using the lakeside path in dry weather. The narrow-gauge railway sits along the lake side, Tryweryn is about a 15-minute drive for white water, and the nearest fuel, pharmacy and larger supermarket are in Bala within 2 miles of the site.

Bala Lake Railway
About 2 miles by road from the site to the Bala station area, useful when legs are tired but children still need movement.
Arenig Fawr Day Walk
About 25 minutes by car to the usual parking area. Take proper waterproofs and check cloud before leaving the site gate.
National White Water Centre
About 15 minutes by car at Tryweryn. Book activities direct with them, the campsite does not provide instruction.

Bad Weather List
Dry boots under your unit awning rather than in the amenity block. Use the washing-up shelter for dishes, not for drying a full family's waterproofs. If rain has been heavy overnight, take the 1.4-mile road route into Bala rather than the lake path.
With children, the railway, café stops and a short supermarket run often beat a forced hill walk. Ask reception which pitch corners are soft before moving a car.
